Copy trading software development FAQ

How is copy trading different from PAMM and MAM?

With copy trading, each follower keeps their own account and the provider's trades are mirrored into it proportionally. With PAMM, investors' money is pooled and a manager trades it, with profit and loss shared by each investor's stake. With MAM, the manager trades a master account and each trade is split across separate investor accounts by lot or percentage rules.

How are performance fees calculated with a high-water mark?

A high-water mark is the highest value a follower's account has reached. Performance fees are charged only on profit above that mark, so a follower never pays twice for recovering the same losses. The mark is tracked per follower and updated after each fee settlement.

Can copy trading work across MT5 and cTrader accounts?

Yes. The copy engine sits outside the trading platforms and places follower trades through each platform's API, so a strategy provider on MT5 can be followed from cTrader accounts and the other way round.

How long does it take to build copy trading software?
